These posts are old, but I'd like to point out that the companions don't actually speak to Dain in the original books by Rodda until The Maze of the Beast, although he does appear in The Shifting Sands where he serves the Queen Bee Cider to the contestants. They do talk to Doom before, though. Not counting the scene in City of the Rats where they see Doom in Tom's shop, The Shifting Sands was the first time they actually spoke to the man, after he saves them from the Grey Guards that caught them when they left the Champion Inn.

Wait, DQA, have you learned hexadecimals?! I didn't know someone had finally started to create a patch for the game. By the way,long time no see. We haven't seen you on the wiki for a long time :/ (this is Luka1184 by the way.)
EDIT: Ah, you used Photoshop. And yes, hex-editing/ROM-hacking is a nightmare.

I studied Japanese recently and it was an absolute nightmare, such a crazy language, so I am even more impressed than ever before with your subbing efforts. Hope to see more soon! :)

Haha I love your story-telling. Yep, surprise, I'm out of the shadows! Not sure if everyone will flood to the forums, but that would be cool. Oh and that's weird you can only post to 'Other', I might have accidentally messed with the settings a while ago. I'll fix that now.

EDIT: Nope, I forgot why I chose to limit posting - I had like 30,000 spam posts here at one point. I'm going to keep it like this, where threads can be created in the "others" section but replies can still be made to any of the threads I've made in other sections. That will help limit impact if spammers come again.
